Privacy policy

• Account data: name, email address, username, phone number and encrypted password.
• Billing data: company or personal name, national ID, RUC or tax identification number, and address, needed to issue electronic invoices.
• Domain holder data: the registrant, administrative, technical and billing contacts required by registries.
• Payment data: processed by the payment processor; we only receive the confirmation, the amount and partial card details, such as the brand and last digits.
• Technical data: IP address, browser, device, pages visited, domain searches and access logs.
• Communications: the messages you send us by email, chat or support and quote forms.

• Creating and managing your account and providing the contracted services.
• Registering, renewing and transferring domains with the relevant registries.
• Processing payments, issuing invoices and sending you expiration and renewal notices.
• Providing technical support and answering your questions.
• Protecting the platform, detecting fraud and enforcing our policies.
• Improving the website and services through usage statistics, where you have accepted them.
• Sending you marketing communications only if you authorize it; you may withdraw that authorization at any time.
• Complying with legal and tax obligations and requests from authorities.

Under article 7 of the LOPDP, we process your data on the following bases:

• Performance of the contract: to provide the services you purchase.
• Legal obligation: for invoicing, accounting and responding to requests from authorities.
• Legitimate interest: for platform security and fraud prevention.
• Consent: for analytics and marketing cookies and marketing communications.

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We only share it when necessary to provide the services or comply with the law:

• Domain registries and registrars, such as NIC.EC and ICANN-accredited registrars, which require the holder's data to register the domain.
• Certificate authorities, to validate and issue SSL certificates.
• Authorized payment processors, for example Stripe.
• Infrastructure and technology providers that help us operate the website, email and support, bound to process data only on our instructions.
• ACCROACHCODE LLC and ACCROACHCODE S.A., within their roles as contracting party and as invoicing entity and representative in Ecuador.
• Competent authorities, where there is a legal obligation or a valid order.

Registries may publish, or make available to third parties through WHOIS or RDAP services, certain domain holder data, according to their own policies and applicable regulations. For many extensions, personal data is redacted or replaced with anonymized contact details.

Where the extension allows it, you can enable domain privacy protection. Even so, registries and authorities may access the holder's full data in the cases provided for by their policies or the law.

Cookies are small files that the site stores in your browser. We use necessary cookies, which keep your session signed in and maintain your cart, language and form security; without them the site does not work properly, so they are always active. Analytics and marketing cookies, which help us understand how the site is used and improve our services, are only activated if you choose "Accept all" in the privacy notice. Your choice is stored for 12 months in the rd_cookie_consent cookie; to change it, delete this site's cookies from your browser and the notice will appear again.

We keep data while your account or services are active and, afterwards, for the periods required by legal, tax and accounting obligations or needed to handle claims. Registries may keep domain holder data according to their own policies. Once those periods end, we securely delete or anonymize the data.

We apply technical and organizational measures to protect data, such as encrypting communications over HTTPS, storing passwords with hashing algorithms, role-based access control and logging of critical operations. No system is completely infallible; if a breach affecting your data occurs, we will act and notify in accordance with the LOPDP.

You may exercise your rights of access, rectification and updating, erasure, objection, portability, suspension of processing, and not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated assessments, by writing to privacidad@registrodigital.com.ec and proving your identity. You can also update much of your data from your account.

If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you may file a complaint with Ecuador's Superintendency of Personal Data Protection. More details in our Personal data protection policy.

Our services are intended for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from minors; if we discover that we have done so, we will delete it.

Your data may be processed outside Ecuador, in particular by ACCROACHCODE LLC in the United States, by registries and registrars in other countries and by infrastructure and payment providers. These transfers are necessary to perform the contract and are carried out with appropriate safeguards, in accordance with the LOPDP rules on international transfers.

We may update this policy. The current version is published on this page with its update date and, if the change is material, we will notify you by email.
